First crowdfunded peer-reviewed paper!

One of the largest campaigns we’ve ever funded has just posted an exciting update.

You can click here to view the the lab note, but it was so awesome that we had to blog about it. Professor Dan Jaffe at the University of Washington has announced that they’ve published the results of their funded study in a peer-reviewed journal. Over 271 people came together to enable the research at $20,529.

Here’s a link to the published study.

“I am happy to let you know that after a comprehensive peer-review, our paper on the train study was accepted for publication and has just been officially released on the journal’s website.

The paper has not yet appeared in the print version of the journal, so there are no volume or pages numbers listed yet, but the doi (digital object identifier) indicates it’s a fully citable article. This is in the journal Atmospheric Pollution Research, which is fully open access. This means the full paper is available at no cost to all, so you can now read the full details of the study that you supported.”

This is really great news, and we’re very excited to share it. These are very important findings, and having this peer-reviewed information will be vital in the discussion of coal transportation through the Seattle region.

A summarized report of the results are available on Dan Jaffe’s lab group website.
