Methods

Summary

We will use an array of electrodes strung along a cable towed behind a boat to make measurements of ground resistance from the beach out the boundary of the known brackish water in a well at least 5 km offshore. This electrical array will allow us to make a continuous profile revealing small changes in the groundwater salinity of the offshore sediments. We will conduct additional profiles onshore at Isle of Palms to complete our survey.
