Research visit in SDSU

In the week of July 4-11, 2021, I did a research stay at San Diego State University with Dr. Marshal Hedin and Dr. Rodrigo Monjaraz.

This research stay was to learn the technique of capturing ultraconserved elements. We processed 48 samples, from 39 different Phidippus species.

About This Project

Spiders are abundant and very interesting invertebrates, but there is still much we don't know about their diversity and distribution, especially in North America where it is estimated that only 27% of arachnids have been studied. Our objetive is study Phidippus spiders in North American, under a taxonomic, ecological, and evolutionary approach to evaluate its center of origin, geographic delimitation and divergence rates with parametric biogeography methods.
