    About This Project

    Urogenital schistosomiasis affects over 200 million people globally, causing cancer, infertility, and chronic illness in underserved African communities. Traditional diagnostic methods require expensive lab equipment. We will test a $2.50 Foldscope microscope for affordable, community-led screening in Nigeria. Using satellite data and drone mapping of snail habitats, we aim to predict infection hotspots and support WHO disease control efforts.
