Excited to get started!

I have to send a huge thank you to everyone who was able to support my project. I'm so excited to get started. Ordering my bumble bee hives today to arrive in July. I'll be sure to post pictures and updates about how it's going through this platform, as well as on my personal webpage.

Here's a picture of my bumble bees arriving last year. They arrive through regular mail, so it's always fun to see people's faces when they hear the package "buzzing" :)

About This Project

Is a recently introduced invasive species, the European wool-carder bee, threatening our native bumble bees?

Male wool-carder bees use evolved weapons on the base of their abdomen to ram into bumble bees trying to gain access to flowers. This project will determine if these interactions are hurting bumble bee lifetime reproductive success.

Blast off!
