Fully funded!

Lab Note #7

Hey everyone,

I don't know how to say thank you in enough ways to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for your support. Through countless friends, family members, friends of friends, former students, bloggers, and random websites, we have generated over 4200 page views and rallied 105 direct contributions!

We have put a lot of effort into this campaign on top of other grants, planning, and even inventing... seeing a contribution of this magnitude is a huge relief. It has truly given this project the green light.

I am very excited to start field work and will be posting updates as the project goes on so that all of you can stay informed. My tentative plan is to head back to the Bahamas in mid-July to set up the experiments before Island School students arrive. We'll have a lot of troubleshooting ahead of us, but it should be a great learning experience for the students and I’m confident that we can overcome any challenges we face in the coming months.

We just received our lights this week, which you can see in the photo below. They are pretty incredible... I plan on conducting some trial runs in the next few weeks to make sure the timers and switches are all working properly before leaving the country. This would not be possible without your support.

If you have any questions about the project, where the funding is going, or what we find out as we move forward, please let me know! I am happy to help.

Thanks again, and stay in touch.

Please wait...
