Next steps
It has now been a month since you—my generous backers—made this project’s challenge successful. This is not a lab report per se, rather an update on how the project will proceed. It will happen over the next year. I am planning to conduct the field research component late in the summer (July-August) of 2017. Over the next few months, I will refine the research design further, prepare the necessary research instruments and groundwork for scheduling field research, and dispense with other research related formalities. Recently, I shared my plans, etc., with one of the founders of Experiment.com who was visiting Honolulu. Also, I am happy to have already been approached by other researchers (some who are backers) interested in collaboratively investigating GO-JEK; some others who have volunteered their expertise for analyzing data; and other parties (such as civil society organizations) that have offered to help with fieldwork. I will also contact representatives of GO-JEK in this regard. So, the prospects are quite exciting. I will keep you posted. Once again, a BIG THANK YOU for your trust in me and this project to study an expanding phenomenon with socially transformative potential.
