I just finished my fourth year as a biomolecular engineering major. My work focuses on the use of riboswitches to control gene expression and monitor progesterone concentration within our cells. So far this includes preparing our plasmids for Gibson Assembly and will soon extend to fluorescence assays in the presence of progesterone. Aside from research, I spend my free time practicing Muay Thai, guitar, and singing. I also enjoy cooking and mixing cocktails to share with friends. After the jamboree, I hope to parlay my experience on this project into a Master’s thesis by continuing the work I started here.
