Aloha, my name is Lindsey Bull. I am from San Diego, Ca and have lived in Honolulu, HI for five years. I came to the island to attend the University of Hawaii at Manoa majoring in Marine Biology and will be graduating this spring. I work for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration apart of the Marine Turtle Biology and Assessment Program. I am passionate about all marine research, and have a passion for hands on field work. I spent six months in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands in 2018, one month this past summer in 2019, and in winter of 2018 one month in American Samoa at Rose Atoll conducting remote field work. Going to UH Manoa taking a variety of marine science classes has expanded my knowledge and interest in different marine research projects. For instance the project we are currently working on right now. It is amazing that these marine mammals are not susceptible and/or barely affected by decompression sickness whereas if humans are affected by it, it can be lethal. Discoveries from research like this is not only important to the marine science field but also could be important to the medical field. It would be amazing to be apart of a project that brings two different types of sciences together.
