Independent research projects can be the most creative and/or incredibly risky. SIIBR Labs provides independent scientists with a non-academic platform where success is measured by the quality of research performed rather than number of papers published and number of NIH grants. Most scientists spend way too much time writing grants, publishing papers, and traveling to present data rather than training junior scientists or performing experiments.
