I am currently a graduate student in the Marine Mammal Behavior and
Cognition Lab at the University of Southern Mississippi. I have always
been fascinated with marine mammals, but as a child, I would have never
dreamed of being in the field I am in now. I am a lover of all things
related to bioacoustics, or how living organisms produce and process
sound, but I am really passionate about understanding the communications
of whales and dolphins. I am currently finishing up my Master's thesis
on whistle production by a bottlenose dolphin mother and her calf, and
moving on to study beluga communication for my dissertation project.
