I am an assistant professor currently working at a state private university (Pandit Deendayal Energy University) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India. I have a PhD in chemistry from National Chemical Laboratory, India. I also have postdoctoral research experience from Harvard University for two years and from University of Massachusetts Boston for half a year after which I joined in my current position.
We here organize several programs for school students viz. national science day celebration on February 28th every year, and vigyaanam (another program) frequently during which we invite nearby school students (mostly from underpriviliged schools) and educate them on the importance of basic sciences and research. This we do apart from our regular obligations of teaching and mentoring and research.
We have been doing this from the past three years and there is a great response from the school students. In line, we would appreciate generous funding towards this cause.
