I'm named Lucas and I'm a history student who has turned historically-turned research into an amazing travel blog for Egypt. Most other students would study from textbooks or the library, but I have taken my studies onto the streets. University work combined with real-life adventure: ancient monuments in Cairo, coastal beauty in Hurghada-every trip becomes field study and story for my blog.
Undergrad majors in ancient civilizations offer a pretty peculiar lens with which to see all Egypt's attractions. I would photograph sites but attach historical perspectives to my pictures; thus, small insights from the past into present day will be considered. It started very amateurishly – taking my study journeys in between exams-but has now grown into something 'worthier'. My blog is now able to reach out to other similar students and budget travelers heading to Egypt, letting them explore some wonders and historic interpretations.
Traveling writing major papers, planning fresh excursions to Sharm el-Sheikh-painting portraits of my journey enhanced my studies in ways that I did not expect. A trip for research purposes to archaeological sites of most hides and local experiences-a fact that most tourists miss-it is wholesomely spiced up in every blog entry, linking academic knowledge with practical tips-from locating student discount at historical sites to authentic local restaurants that won't break the bank.
What really sets my blog apart is the way I connect scholarly insights with real travel experiences. Analyzing ancient pottery techniques to do my thesis could be used for hooking up reviews on budget diving spots, but every post tells the story with a background of historic context relating to applicable advice. Most important of all, I have learned through my studies and adventure that it isn't about memorizing dates that helps level an understanding among the past, but truly experiencing the culture that lives from it.
