After serving in the United States Marine Corps for four years, I made a decision to go back to school in order to combat environmental degradation. I am currently a term away from earning my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Oregon, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry. My intention is to study and research coral reef ecosystems, primarily focusing on the environmental and anthropogenic issues the ecosystems are currently facing. More importantly, I hope that my research yields solutions on how we, as scientists and a community, can remedy these destructive issues so that these delicate systems may survive and prosper. It is my ultimate goal to one day earn a PhD and apply my knowledge and education toward improving our planet.
