Processing samples in the lab
Below is a picture of Maria processing our first set of snow samples in the lab. Utah State University has allowed us to use some of their lab space in their beautiful new building. In the lab we are filtering out absorbing impurities, which is important for calculating rates of chemical reactions in the snow. We are performing ion concentration measurements right in the lab here in Utah, and we are preparing the samples for isotopic analysis back in Seattle. Today we are headed back out to the field to collect more snow, and our first aerosol sample!
