Gratitude for your support!A huge thanks to the Experiment Foundation for supporting us on this project! We are at 87% of our goal now and need your support to get to our target. Over the past month, our team has been laying the groundwork for the project. We have surveyed two local rivers, gathered some initial samples, screen devices for accuracy and also worked with local fishermen. 
We have also had many interns including high school students joining us on the data collection and analysis activities over the past month.

About This Project

Can low-cost and readily available water quality testers accurately map pollution levels in Indian rivers?

Lack of reliable water quality data is leading to serious global health issues. The UNEP estimates that around 3 billion people are at health risk due to scarcity of water quality data, which mainly stems from the lack of resources such as testing labs and manpower. In this project, we will explore the use of low-cost water testers and evaluate their efficacy in accurately mapping the quality of river water in Goan rivers (India) using an open-source, citizen science-based approach.
