We reached our funding goal!

Thanks to a number of very generous donations yesterday, we have reached our funding target of $ 6,906 twelve days before the deadline. The Amsterdam Troy Team wishes to thank warmly all those who have pledged support for our research. We will go to Troy this summer for an exciting project. And we will keep you informed through lab notes, a news letter and our Facebook and Social Media pages.

Stretch Goal

During our preparations, it has become increasingly clear that it is necessary to consult the diaries and archives of Heintrich Schliemann, which are in Athens Greece. Graduate student Vita Gerritsen, is ready to go to Athens in May, hopefully accompanied by Schliemann expert Wout Arentzen. Since we have 11 more days left in our crowdfunding campaign, we hope that we can fund their trip, by formulating it as "a stretch goal" in this crowdfunding campaign.

We thank you again for your generosity. And we will keep you updated on our research. Never hesitate to contact us should you have any questions!

About This Project

Ancient Troy has been the subject of archaeological research for a very long time: systematic excavations have been conducted at the site since 1863. This makes Troy exceptionally suited to study the development of archaeological field practice. Each team excavating at Troy did so with their own methodologies and techniques. We want to know the effect of these changes on interpretations about the site.

Blast off!
