Searching for clues: An update
We began this project about six years ago...here's an update (September 2021):
Beginning in late 2020, I led an online discussion group based on the book, Genomics in the Cloud. You can read more about the book club, as well as find links to videos and slides here. The book (and book club) allowed me to continue searching for genetic clues in autism.
The big difference between 2015 and now is the emergence of Terra, a platform for running secondary genomic analyses in the cloud. I recently blogged about my experience as a citizen scientist in this guest blog post, and discussed some things I learned along the way while working with Terra.
About one month ago (August 2021), I started a new role as an industry specialist in precision medicine at Amazon Web Services. Entering this field fulfills a long held belief we can truly move the needle in precision medicine by thoughtfully and ethically combining and analyzing healthcare data.
I have more to do, but continue to make progress.
As always, thank you for your encouragement and support. It has been an incredible journey.
