I am a Ph.D. candidate in Hospitality Management at the University of South Carolina (UofSC). I recently completed Business Analytics certificate with an emphasis on Big data from the Darla Moore School of Business at UofSC. I also hold M.S. in Hospitality Management and B.S. in Hotel & Restaurant Management from the University of Houston, and B.B.A. in Hotel Management from Kyunghee University (Korea).

My main research stream lies in hospitality and tourism technology adoption (e.g., AR/VR, AI, Robitics) data mining, and big data analytics. Most of my research papers during my Ph.D. program were technology adoption and post-experience aspects of technology adoption in the hospitality and tourism industry.

During my doctoral program with UofSC, I have presented 8 research papers at the renowned international and national conferences and received the best research paper award in 2018. I have published 3 papers in total and 6 papers are currently under review for publication. Specifically, my research papers were published in premier journals in our field and one paper in statistics journal, which is another my research strength. Furthermore, I am working on 3 more research projects, except my own doctoral dissertation.

Under the overarching theme of technology, my dissertation (the current project) aims to develop the technology experience index for the hospitality industry first and then apply this index to the service industry. My goal to develop the technology experience index is for the hospitality industry to identify the threshold point that can maximize customer experience while their experiencing hospitality and tourism services.

I first started teaching at the University of Houston with Food Service Production and Operations II for both lecture and lab parts. Since 2018, I have taught different courses in hospitality management, including Introduction to Hospitality, Hotel Management, and so on.
