Sercon are dedicated to the design, manufacture and support of Isotope Ratio Mass Spectrometers and their associated sample preparation systems. We manufacture 3 different types of mass spectrometer: the ABCA2 is an IRMS breath analyser, the main application of which is the measurement of carbon isotope ratios in breath samples to detect gastrointestinal diseases; the Integra2 is the world’s only combined EA-IRMS, this cost effective robust analyser is easy to use, semi-portable and is a true workhouse for C and N; the 20-22 is the flexible IRMS needed by most isotope research scientists – available in dual inlet or continuous flow mode, the 20-22 can be connected to an EA, HPLC or GC system. We manufacture EAs – the GSL can be used for CN or S analysis on solids liquids and gases, the CNS allows, as the name implies, simultaneous CNS measurements on similar samples, and the HT-EA is used for high temperature (pyrolysis) measurements of the isotopes of O and H. Our autosamplers can be used for gas, solid and liquid sampling, and headspace equilibration measurements. On the compound specific side we work closely with Agilent to provide GC-IRMS systems which come with the Sercon Orchid interface, which can be configured for the analysis of the isotopes of C, N, H or O. We also manufacture a LC-I interface which can be hyphenated to any commercially available HPLC, and a Cryoprep which is mainly used for the analysis of trace gases and can also be hyphenated to a TOC.
