This question has nothing to do with your study, but I would be interested to learn of any localities in southeast Michigan where the behavior of pebble nest building minnows might be observed. Reighard did his famous studies on creek chubs in Fleming Creek about a century ago, but I'm not certain whereabouts in the Creek he did them. I have some new ideas about what is really going on--behaviorally speaking--with the pebble nest building species. The key word is pheromones. The testing of these ideas would require someone's conducting carefully designed field experiments.
