More
I have lived on the island of O'ahu in Hawai'i since August of 2015, studying marine biology at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa.
I have been an active member as well as the president of the American Cetacean Society Student Coalition at UH Mānoa. I have gone out with the Cascadia Research Collective on two separate days, assisting in field work on Hawaiian odontocetes under Dr. Robin Baird. I am currently an intern for the Marine Mammal Research Program at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa under Dr. Lars Bejder.
Throughout my three years of school at UH Manoa, I have gained experience in coral reef ecology, specifically surveying techniques involving scuba and free diving. These experiences were through degree curriculum, the QUEST Field School and the Scientific Diver Qualification Course. I am an AAUS Scientific Diver as well as NAUI Master Diver. I have experience operating DSLR cameras, especially in photographing wildlife.
