At a perilous time when scientific methodology has been attacked and funding has been greatly reduced, scientific inquiry must still continue. We shall continue to pursue knowledge, and for that, it must be funded. I know first-hand how dedicated these two young scientific minds are and the potential that this research may have on the exploration of immune health as we venture deeper into space and potentially into other planetary systems. The vast nature of such a project begins with a manageable paradigm and the 1:1 or squid:vibrio system is an elegant and effective way to study the immune genetic material altered, expressed, or suppressed within simulated microgravity conditions, followed by real space flight experiments. I look forward to reading your fascinating results in your published articles!
