My research interests are in the biodiversity, taxonomy and systematics of insects, with an emphasis on true flies (Diptera). For the past 13 years, I have focused on the taxonomy and systematics of fossil and extant moth flies and sand flies (Psychodidae) of the world. I'm also involved in collaborative studies of primitive crane flies (Tanyderidae) and net-winged midges (Blephariceridae).
