Ever since I was a child, I knew biology was something I wanted to do when I grew up. My passion for curiosity and the simplicity of wanting to know more has always been a drive in making me want to learn about many things. Nonetheless, biology has been a particularly intimate interest of mine as studying it helped me find comfort and a way of exploring the unknown from the safety of my room. It shows us what we're made of, how, and the wonders of the universe that resides within us.
I hope my proposal to research anti-cancer bacteriophage therapies like EnAd can help pave the way for future research and development into devising cost-efficient, effective, and safe alternatives to treating various forms of cancer. In slowing the impacts of cancer, I also hope we gain a greater understanding of this mutant aggressor and even devise a way to one day fully eradicate its reign. Perhaps viruses, whom we have thought of as long-time enemies, have held all these years the secrets not to eradicate us but to help us prosper.
