More
As of February 2017, I entered into an expanded role for my second year as a Research Associate in the Department for Behavioral Sciences and Leadership (DFBL) at the United States Air Force Academy.
In October 2017, I will be applying for PhD programs in psychology, and will be looking for a mentor who trends in the Cognitive Science of Religion. My broad interests pertain to psychology and sociology of religion and atheism, and moral psychology.
More specifically, I’m interested in: • the social and individual-difference factors shaping various facets of religiosity and atheism, particularly existential security thesis • theory and origin of religion, especially the cognitive science of religion • moral decision making (e.g. information we use, post-hoc justifications we employ, how judgments are modified across situations, etc) My current research projects include:
1. How and why atheists convert to Christianity 2. The factors that predict moral (in)action 3. The role of religious coping in post-deployment behavioral outcomes 4. Atheism and meaning in life
