I am a graduate student at Duke's Nicholas School of the Environment pursuing a Master of Environmental Management. As Lead Educator for 4 years at the Woodland Park Zoo (Seattle, WA), Audubon Zoo (New Orleans, LA), and Seneca Park Zoo (Rochester, New York), I witnessed first-hand the benefits of sponsored on-the-ground (or water!) science programs in sparking excitement for environmental science careers among underrepresented youth.
