My primary goal is to continue fulfilling my commitment to enhancing ocean stewardship through science. To accomplish this, I plan to dedicate my professional career to working with resource management agencies, non-governmental organizations, and diverse stakeholder groups to conduct research and advocate for effective conservation strategies and adaptive management of marine resources and systems.
I grew up in Western Massachusetts, surrounded by forests, wetlands, rivers, and mountains. Cape Cod has also been significant in my life with its estuaries, beaches, and marine life.
Involvement in environmental conservation began at an early age and continued through my Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Biology at the College of Charleston, my graduate training at the University of Massachusetts focused on movement and disturbance ecology, and my current position as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
