I am absolutely interested in science and seeing it's impact on communities around me. Asides from that I am a thinker and a creative person with a wild imaginations. Sometimes my friends say I have an interesting personality because I always have a funny way of expressing things.
I was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree from JKUAT which i specialized in Chemistry and Applied Mathematics. I have vast experience of working in agricultural laboratory as molecular research assistant, molecular laboratory technician and molecular lab manager. One of the main activities is to use genetic Marker Assisted Selection to determine and track desirable genes in breeding line. This usually involve a lot of wet lab scenario and sometimes very expensive. I want to use a dry lab scenario to assist in breeding selection and significantly reduce the cost and time associated with wet lab molecular work.
I am current a postgraduate student at University of Nairobi pursuing an M.Sc in Bioinformatics and I hope to have positive impact to the community around me, that is plant breeders.
