Shazah Waqar is a first year Life-sciences student (specializing in biomedical sciences) at the University of Waterloo. Her previous research includes studying air-dynamics and its relationship to parachute shapes, a project that she took part in in secondary school with collaboration with other young and "new to the field" researchers. Her interest in understanding the growing pandemic of mental illness and youth related health issues has become the main driving cause of this research. Her previous work as a child counselor expand her understanding of neural interactions and motivational behavior of children with autism, ADHD, etc.
