Hi Luis, it's worth saying that this species has been spread all over the tropics by humans and has become the first "pan-tropical" earthworm species. A number of papers have been published on this species, it's population genetics and it's impacts on soil functioning. Sequencing the genome of this guy will therefore provide significant insights, or at least a solid basis, for further studies aiming at understanding why and how this species has became such a successful invader.
