Guys, we made it the end!

4 years ago all 100 of you helped fund my Master's thesis and as promised here it is: https://www.copeiajournal.org/copeia-bjah/ajce-17-620ez577303yx I really appreciate all the support that we received in doing this project and none of this would have been possible without buying those hydrophones.

Although my work has been completed, those hydrophones are still being used by the lab to further evaluate vocalizations produced by giant sea bass. You can see updates on our facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/giantseabass/

Thank you all for making this possible and enjoying the ride with me over the last few years.

About This Project

I will be investigating the mating strategies and behavior of Giant Sea Bass. They have been largely overfished since the late 1800's, causing them to land on the IUCN Red List as critically endangered. Despite its popularity, few studies have been done and much of what is known is speculative. Researching mating strategies allows for better understandings of the functions of this mysterious beast and is vital to its preservation.
Blast off!
