PBS segment airing and Kaeli graduates

Good morning project backers! I wanted to send a quick update that the PBS segment this work was featured in will air on the show SciTech Now this Thursday April 4th, at 7:30pm PST. Check your local listings as times will differ across the country.

On another note my manuscript for this work was officially approved by the graduate school and I have successfully completed my Masters degree! I will send a follow-up update when the paper is available on open access. Now it's time to send it off to publication in a scientific journal and move on to the next phase of questions for my doctorate. Thank you for all your support!

About This Project

Crows have been observed to gather and vocalize around dead members of their own species both anecdotally and scientifically. While the occurrence of these "funerals" is no longer in dispute, their function remains mysterious. Through both field and non-lethal lab techniques we hope to address if American Crows are using "funerals" to learn about dangerous places, people, and what areas of their brain are activated during these experiences.
Blast off!
