Liz Hoover, my current undergraduate student has successfully amplified three new genes for our study! These three new areas add five new genetic variations to our study. This is the first step to expanding our data set beyond our pilot study. We are now working on amplifying these regions via PCR in the 150 individuals in our pilot study.

Dyslexia is a disorder that makes reading difficult despite intelligence. This learning disability is becoming well-studied and characterized in children; however, less work is being done in adults.
