YOU can name the fish!

YOU can name our fish

THE FIRST 24 BACKERS WILL NAME THE FISH IN OUR RESEARCH.

When we mark the fish with tags, each tag has a unique ID number and so the fish becomes #982369. While that is the only scientificly effective way of distinguishing our fish, it's not really user friendly, being really hard to remember such a lengthy number. Therefore, we decided to name our fish to make it easier for us to remember the different fish, but also for you to be able to follow our work more closely.

Since You, our backers, are investing in our research, You will get the chance to name the fish. When we start the survey, we will contact each of the FIRST 24 BACKERS and you can name ONE FISH whatever you like; it can be your own name, a name of your company, a name that you really like, or a characteristic that you connect with fish, be imaginative. If you don't want to do this, don't worry, we have plenty of names in stock and we can do it for you.

Once we start the survey, you'll be able to follow what your fish is doing and how it compares to others, which makes it much more exciting :) !

About This Project

REVIVO

Naturally occurring marble trout have been reared in captivity and stocked to the Soča River since 1995. However, little is known about the interaction between the marble and rainbow trouts in the wild after their release to the river. An international team of scientists in association with the fishing club Idrija will compare farm raised marble and rainbow trout behavior in the Idrijca River using telemetry. Our findings will support marble trout conservation efforts in Slovenia.
