Loading a Gel and Feeling Swell

Hi everyone!

I've been spending a lot of time in the lab lately and I feel great about it! I'm so close to my goal and I am very grateful for everyone's support. I'm almost at 90% with 8 days to go. I'm very optimistic about reaching my goal and I have all of you to thank.

In other exciting news, I will be attending a conservation genomics workshop this coming week hosted by UCLA and the La Kretz Center. I will be receiving hands-on training from instructors from UCLA, UC Davis and UC Berkeley on how to handle genomic-level data. The data analysis part of my research is daunting at times, but I'm ready to gain the skills I need to tackle my work! I'll keep you updated on my endeavors! Thanks again and I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Cheers,

Maria

About This Project

The red-eyed treefrog exhibits variation among populations, including differences in color pattern, body size and advertisement calls. Genetic analyses show that populations in Costa Rica and Panama have differentiated despite spatial overlap, indicating that evolutionary forces are at work. Understanding the extent of genomic divergence among populations that remain in contact can reveal the relative strength of evolutionary forces.
