Over 50% funded!

Hi everyone!

Thanks so much for everyone's generosity and support. Our project is over 50% funded and we still have 10 days left. Please spread the word as any donation will get us one step closer to our goal. I really hope we can get there and I can't wait to get this project moving.

I found two interesting articles out of local newspapers that discuss ARDS. The first is a story of a very interesting but labor/resource extensive treatment called ECMO (heart-lung bypass) used in a child with ARDS. The second is an article that discusses the disease in general. Here are the links in case anyone is interested!

Again, thanks so much to everyone for your support! Please continue to help with the campaign!

Best,

Julien

About This Project

Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a common deadly illness often seen in the intensive care unit. Macrophages, the first responders of our immune system, are always found in lungs of patients with ARDS. However, it is unclear if there is a subset of cells that act as the main propagators of the disease. I believe we can find a subset of these cells that when targeted, may help us stop or even reverse ARDS.
Blast off!
