Project featured on Africa Geographic blog

How exciting is this...through a chance encounter with the CEO of Africa Geographic after a friend gave me and my research a glowing endorsement on his own Facebook page, Simon recommended I send through some info and they can add it to their blog. It went live late yesterday and they will also be sharing it on their Facebook page this morning. Fantastic bit of exposure and I am hugely grateful to Simon Espley, Thea Felmore and the Africa Geographic team for the opportunity to reach a wider audience.

About This Project

African rhinos are of great economic and ecological importance within their range states, but are threatened by poaching for their horns as Traditional medicine, ornaments and status symbols. Recent research has focussed on anti-poaching, dehorning and horn treatments as deterrents, with less interest paid to improving long-term management of these shrinking populations. This study aims to analyse behavioural, demographic and genetic patterns to compile a 'Genetic Metapopulation Management Plan'.
