Quick dispatch from the road

Lab Note #8
Jul 11, 2014
I was in Sioux Falls and Brookings this week for workshops. I talked to a group of educators about how to use the Backyard Biodiversity project in their classrooms and youth/school gardens. Part of the workshop was a field trip to the Mary Jo Wegner arboretum in Sioux Falls. I gave everyone data sheets and had them do a mini-observation. One pair managed to spot a spider eating a bee and even caught it on film (or, more accurately iPhone).

While in Brookings, I stopped by McCrory Gardens. If you are ever in Brookings, the gardens deserve a visit. I did spot some pollinators while there, but my camera cable is still in Pierre so you'll have to wait to see those.

I'll be doing my regular observation at Oahe on Saturday so expect a photo heavy post in the near future.

Please wait...
