First paper published!
We just published the results of one of the first steps in our project. We surveyed leading pediatric oncology hospitals to find out if they let kids being treated for cancer interact with therapy animals and if so, what their rules are. Most do have animal-assisted therapy programs and most allow dogs only, although one also allows cats and one permits miniature horses!
We thank the 18 hospitals who participated in our survey. We're in the next phase now, applying the survey results in our work with clinics and families to optimize programs for kids in oncology hospitals to have time with therapy animals. Thank you again for your support of our work.
