Amy Shira Teitel Shares What She'd Like to Know About Her Readers
Amy Shira Teitel, @astVintageSpace on Twitter, is an avid fan and writer of space history. She blogs for Popular Science magazine, via her blog Vintage Space (which also has a video-blogging component on YouTube!) Even more exciting, Amy is one of our confirmed science blogger collaborators for this Experiment.com project. Two weeks from now she will be posting our survey link to her blog(s) so that she, and we, can learn more about her blog readers!
Paige: Who is your intended audience?
Amy: My intended audience is anyone interested in space. That goes from people who grew up with Apollo and want to remember their favourite missions to people who don't ever think about the fact that we've been in space for a long time and had to figure out of a lot of stuff in the 1960s. I want to help recapture that curiosity.
Paige: Do you have an idea of who your actual readers are? If so, tell me a bit about that. If you are unsure about who reads your blog, what would you most like to know about your readers?
Amy: I don't know who my actual readers are -- I don't get those metrics! I would like to know what my readers are most interested in and curious about. I get a little of that from my YouTube channel, but it's different. I can never predict what will hit my audience well so I'd like to know that!
Paige: If you could ask your blog readers any single question (and have them all answer!) what would it be?
Amy: I might have to say the same as the previous one: I'd really just like to know what their burning questions are and what they really want to be reading about. I do this because I love it, but I get to do it because people read it, so I want to make sure my audience is pleased!

We will be answering many of Amy's questions about her readers in our #sciblogreaders survey! We'll be asking readers what motivates them to read/watch Amy's blog. We will also be asking Amy's blog readers what they'd like to see from her blog in the future.
Help us offer survey incentives so that Amy's readers are motivated to complete our readership survey for her blog! Experiment.com/mysciblogreaders
