I have been interested in crayfish ecology, life history, and taxonomy since 1971 (43 years) when my college professor (Raymond F. Jezerinac) first introduced me to the myriad of issues surrounding their study. To date I have described five new species, have two more in press, and continue to work away at the considerable backlog of undescribed material in my lab. I have just finished a three year study in Virginia and have started another three year project in Tennessee. Recently I began a rewarding collaboration with Dr.s James Fetzner and Zachary Loughman. We are deep into a study of Central Appalachian crayfish such as Cambarus dubius and Cambarus robustus.
