Hi Gary, if you read the blog I've recently posted you will see we have collared pride male M109, "Madoda", who is one of the 2 named animals in this fundraising effort. The younger male M102, "Madiba", has not been sighted since mid February and is likely to have left the park but I am still hopefully he may be tracked and collared but if not I will be collaring another lioness instead. Many thanks!

I can't quite believe the generosity here. THANK YOU. With 3 weeks to go and $900 I'm sure we'll reach the target and collars can be ordered as quickly as next month! If I'm fortune enough to see the amount go above the target this certainly isn't a problem!! Fuel costs stand at c. $600 a month (2 x 200l diesel drums plus transport via boat to the remote camp) so any excess will go towards these costs FYI! THANK YOU!!!

Hi Ceil, this is so very generous of you. Thank you. And thank you for writing so well exactly why research and conservation measures must be taken now for the species! People like you and your aunt keep projects like this going - you're very special!

Hi Gary, so very grateful for your contribution. This will go such a long way if we reach our target. Thank you. Yes sadly Bumi also lost another pride male last year. Two males swam from Matusadona to Bumi around 2012/3 and overtook the pride but one of the males roamed into the neighbouring concession and was shot. Trophy hunting figures have dramatically improved this year in Zimbabwe but there is still a lot to be done and this is why research must be undertaken. Cheers again, Rae
