Methods

Summary

The first week in Deschapelles, Haiti we will perform site evaluations to determine the best possible location for these wells. Following this, we will then convert 3 hand-dug wells into ISF wells as a team with the help and collaboration of the Hopital Albert Schwietzer's water team. We will collect water samples before and after installation, and then continue to collect samples prior to 90 days after installation. Previously installed ISF wells will also be sampled and evaluated. There are two methods used for testing coliform and E. coli levels, including Aquagenx, and IDEXX's Colilert-18 which requires an incubation period of 18 hours.
