Blood serum collection and testing
Blood in dry tubes will be collected from patients enrolled and transferred to the laboratory. Antibody testing will be done using a lateral flow assay device on the same day and the result of positive tests communicated to the physician. The remaining serum sample will be stored at -20°C for subsequent real-time PCR to identify the species and the fungi load.
