    About This Project

The Leuser Ecosystem has been extensively damaged by human extractive industries such as oil palm and agroforestry, yet retains vital conservation value.

We will use camera traps to quantify species richness and densities of animals at our site, including critically endangered Sumatran tigers, elephants, orangutans, and sun bears.

These data will provide much needed insight into the effects of human disturbance and inform conservation strategies.
