New funding goal: $3000

Time is running out! Please help us meet our new goal of $3000 by sharing this project on all your social media accounts. If we fail to meet or exceed our new goal, all monies will be returned to donors by experiment.com... and we have to start over, again.

We have lowered our funding goal on Experiment.com from $6000 to $3000. To make up the difference between the lowered goal of $3000 and the actual cost of the expedition, Dr. Caryn will be offering a 2-week field course this summer...similar to courses & expeditions fielded from 1999-2012. The course will be open to both students and non-students. Stay tuned for details!

About This Project

Has increased tourism in Belize impacted the dolphin population? In the late 1990s, Self-Sullivan and her peers determined that mangrove cayes provided foraging and nursery habitat for dolphins and manatees in Belize. It was predicted that increasing cruise ship tourism would have negative effects on the dolphin population. With your help, we will test that hypothesis and determine changes in the population structure, habitat use, and behavior.

Blast off!
