Absorbing lessons from Spongebob

Wait...isn't this site supposed to be about science?

Yes! The first thing we are doing is making some animations for kids to test out our illustration theme. We are trying to make the animations really fun like cartoons that you'd see on tv, and eventually they will be posted on the website that we will build. Hopefully the animations will have replay value that will help our didactics sink in.

It's a neat process and it definitely makes me take a closer look at Cartoon Network to try to figure out how they do things. YES MOM, I AM TOTALLY DOING MY HOMEWORK BY WATCHING (i mean studying) CARTOON NETWORK.

The kids will take pre and post quizzes related to our animations to help us see if a particular style helps them learn better, and they will also fill out surveys to give us insights into their learning preferences.

We'll post more steps from the process of making our animation from our first lab note soon, and eventually we'll post a sneak peek of one of our animations for our funders so they can have the first look!

About This Project

Education is key in the rehab process for spinal cord damage, but precious few resources for children exist. We will build an engaging, dynamic website to fill this void, and test the use of illustrated techniques for teaching biomedical concepts to children.

Blast off!
