Pledge Incentives and Thanks to Birds & Beans Coffee!

I have something very exciting to share with you all this morning!

I am writing this lab note to send out a big THANK YOU to Birds and Beans coffee for contributing coffee to our project!  Birds & Beans has agreed that for a limited time only the next (two have been claimed) 10 people that pledge $75 or more will receive a 12oz bag of Scarlet Tanager French Roast coffee!!!  This coffee is shade grown, organic, fair-trade, and even "Bird Friendly", as 10% of their gross profits are donated back to help support bird conservation.  To read more about Birds & Beans and their awesome coffee, click here.

In addition, I am offering some pledge incentives of my own making:

If you pledge $15-20, you will receive: a handwritten Thank You note

$25-50: a Thank You note and Acknowledgement on Blog and in a YouTube video.

$75+: The folks that receive a 12 oz bag of Scarlet Tanager French Roast coffee will also receive a Thank You note, and a 5x5 print of a Hawaiian sunset or one of our project birds. Here's an example of the type of print you will receive:

Other possible gifts that still in the works for pledges of $150+: art prints, t-shirts, acknowledged in published works!

Thanks again to all that have contributed thus far and thanks for reading! A new Lab Notebook YouTube video will be coming by the end of this week.

--Wanda

Update: As of 9/9, three bags of coffee have been claimed!

About This Project

Birdsong is an essential adaptation of songbirds, which helps ensure reproductive success. The goal of this project is to use birdsong as a measure to see if speciation is occurring between island and mainland populations of non-native birds. Such research has never been done before in Hawaii, and looking at non-native birds will also help understand the effects human impacts have on birdsong in an urban landscape.
Blast off!
