The only thing that this makes me wonder is - in 10,000 years of livestock cultivation, haven't some enterprising farmers thought of this before? I assume you've talked to some of the local farmers about the research - do they find it a surprising/clever idea? Are they skeptical that it will work? Or is it a relatively new phenomenon for lions and cattle to be sharing the same environment, so this kind of approach has never been needed before?
